About Full Time Post

Full Time Post is a three-newsletter brand covering European football, games, and science fiction. It is written by one person, Eric Nelson, out of Wicklow, Ireland.

The name is a football reference. "Full time" is the whistle. "Post" is both a newspaper word and a defensive idea: get the write-up to you after the final whistle, with the facts settled.

Why three

Because the same reader who watches Wicklow Rovers on a Friday night plays Helldivers on a Saturday and reads Iain M. Banks on a Sunday. You are not one thing. The internet is bad at letting you be more than one thing. This tries to fix that by keeping the three clean, separate, and shippable.

The standard

Three rules:

1. Every load-bearing factual claim links to a source. If a sentence makes a claim of fact, you can click through and check it.
2. AI helps find the stories. A human writes them. The tooling ingests open feeds, clusters duplicates, ranks by signal, and surfaces what is worth covering. Every word in every issue is written by Eric. A second-pass verifier reads the finished draft against the cited sources and flags anything that drifts, as a final QA check before publish.
3. No clickbait, no tribalism, no filler. If a week has nothing worth saying, the issue skips.

How this newsletter is made

Every issue runs through the same six-step pipeline:

1. Aggregate. Open RSS feeds, public Reddit threads, and HN. No scraping behind paywalls, no rewriting other people's exclusives without credit. (Tooling.)
2. Cluster. Stories that are the same story get collapsed into one entry, with all the source links preserved. (Tooling.)
3. Rank and angle. The tooling ranks the week's clusters by signal and suggests angles to consider. (Tooling.)
4. Decide and write. Eric chooses what runs, drops what does not, and writes the issue. Every word is written by a human. (Eric.)
5. Source-check. A second-pass verifier reads the finished draft against the cited sources and flags any sentence that drifts. (Tooling, on the human-written prose.)
6. Edit and ship. Eric reads the verifier output, fixes anything flagged, writes the editor note, and presses publish. (Eric.)

The tooling exists so one person can cover three beats consistently. The writing and the editorial decisions belong to a human.

How the money works

One subscriber tier, free. Sponsorship is clearly marked at the top of the section, never injected mid-paragraph. If we ever add a paid tier, it unlocks archives and deeper data, never the week's actual issue.
